Lime Mortar Update OPW and BLFI
Mortar mixes for our Built Heritage, including Hot-mixed Lime mortar and earth mortars
Workshop hosted by OPW Depot Kilkenny

The workshops will be of interest to those specifying or working with mortars for the repair of buildings. It will benefit the architect/ mason making the transition into working on heritage structures

Richmond Barracks 24th November 2016
The Richmond Barracks is one of the 1916 commemoration projects that the government has invested in for this year’s special celebratory year.

Richmond Barracks, Dublin; Talks and Tour of recent lime works

Richmond Barracks is one of the 1916 commemoration projects that the government has invested in for this year’s special celebratory year.
Dublin City Council allocated €3.5 million towards the restoration. This included the Cupola being brought back to life on the Gymnasium building along with a significant amount of re pointing and masonry repair. The Richmond Barracks was officially opened in May of this year.
The barracks is one of the new tourist-attractions in the Dublin 8 area, joining Kilmainham Courthouse and the new Pearse Lyons Distillery.
Mulranny Stone Wall and Lime Festival
The second annual Mulranny Stone Wall Festival takes place from the 13th to 15th May 2016.
The festival includes an exciting programme of talks, demonstrations, workshops and entertainment.
Presented by Mayo County Council in association with The Heritage Council, Mulranny Environmental Group & the Building Limes Forum Ireland

Stone wallers, owners/occupiers of old buildings, planning agents, architects, engineers, archaeologists, local authority staff, elected members, farmers and landowners, Rural Social Scheme (RSS) participants, FAS employees, community groups, Tidy Towns committees, those involved in protecting and promoting heritage within their local area and anybody interested in stone walls.
